The Feedback Items

• Load to Disk:
  When using the option load to disk, NCSA Mosaic copies the file to the disk but does not display it. If the create new window option (hold down option key while clicking on the link) is active at the same time as load to disk, the new window preference is ignored. Which would be the best way to handle this? [Pick one]
  1. Load file to disk & show the text.
  2. Load file to disk & show a blank window.
  3. Load file to disk & do not open a new window (as is now).
• Button to Load Current Document to Disk
• Color coding anchors that point to another part of the same document
  When a user clicks on a hotlink and then later returns to the document that displays the hot link, the link is color coded to indicate that it has already been visited. If there is a list of hotlinks each pointing to different parts of the same document there is a question as to how to decide if the link should be colored visited or not. There are 2 methods of handling this. What do you feel is the most intuitive way to handle this?
  1. Color any link pointing to that DOCUMENT visited.
  2. Color only those links pointing to that LOCATION within the document visited.

Feature Suggestions

Annotation

• Include the URL of the host page in an annotation.

Email

• Type in Email address in the mail dialog
• cc self when mailing
• Email a URL (not document just the URL)

External Viewers

• "Show" feature in Pick File Type dialog so user doesn't have to reselect just see what the settings are.

Gopher / FTP

• Multiple downloads from a Gopher site at one time
• Click on Gopher Icons.
• Add dates & file sizes to ftp & gopher listings.

History

• Export history lists.

Hotlists

• Move hotlist into a floating window instead of menu.
• Save hotlist each time a change is made.
• Always save hotlist after each edit or add
• Drag & Drop interface for the hotlists.

HyperText Window

• Yes/No/Back/Cancel dialog on closing a hypertext window.
• Justify the text.
• Turn off icon animation.
• JPEG for inlined images
• Copy HTML source fragments.
• Display file size & download time
• Copy a URL without going to the document.
• Use other characters for [ & ] in keyboard shortcuts. Not on all keyboards.

Load to Disk

• Use file name from original when saving a file to the disk.

Open URL

• Save last typed in URL in open URL dialog.

Preferences

• Remember window size & position
• Print page setup is lost between launches. Save information in preferences.

Search Tools

• Dictionary, Thesaurus, Mapper modes ... this makes all text hot and when the user clicks on a word Mosaic looks up the word in the dictionary, thesaurus or plots a location on a geographical map.

Style Dialog

• Preview for styles dialog.
• User definable leading
